Rewrite Card Design Guidelines and Procedures I

I. Design Guidelines for 4th Generation "PET CARD"

1. Design in 4C (back side-non thermal printing area) + 1C (front side-thermal printing area) or 1C (back side-non thermal printing area) + 4C (front side-thermal printing area)
2. The maximum thermal rewritable area on the front side is 65.6mm x 42mm
3. Leave 1mm margin from card edges for critical text or image
4. Optional arrow mark on front side (thermal printing side) to indicate card insertion direction
5. Use blank or light color(s) for the thermal rewritable area as the text/graphics thermal printing is in black or blue image
6. Use CMYK color mode
7. Avoid using metallic and fluorescent colors

III. Design Tips

• Clients are sugguested not to use high ink concentration on the back side of rewrite card.
• The thickness of ink not directly affects the performance of reading card data.
• The increase of ink thickness affects the increase of error rate of signal detection.
• Reserve a blank small box for card holder's signature if applicable.

Preferred Design Format: Adobe Illustrator 9.0 or Photoshop 7.0
Design Template: Available in Illustrator Format (file: RewriteCards_template.ai)

Remark:

Please note thelogo will be printed on back side as verification as the card material guarantee. Only cards with printed logo will be valid for repair if there is any non-human damage of the magnetic stripe.

Rewrite PowerTech Asia Ltd will ONLY be responsible for the maintenance of products belong to our company. Therefore, clients are recommended to pick up the "Thermal Rewrite Card" logo independently.
